The 2024 Santa Barbara TREX firelighters will engage in 10 days of training on breathtaking wildlands, learning and working alongside professional fire practitioners, tribal partners, ranchers, land managers, and community members to meet diverse objectives using beneficial fire.
Participants must be qualified Basic Wildland Firefighter NWCG FFT2, or have completed the courses S130, S190, L180, ICS100b, IS 700, and a Work Capacity Test. All participants must sign a liability waiver.
Apply here by September 9th, 2024 12 PM PT. Notification concerning 1st round of selection will be made no later than September 23, 2024. Needs-based stipends may be available for cultural fire practitioners. If you are interested, please indicate so on the application form.
