WHERE WE WORK

Founded in 2015 with a single landscape in the combined ancestral territories of the Yurok, Hoopa and Karuk Tribes of Northern California, the IPBN has grown to include participants from multiple Pueblos in New Mexico, land managers from the Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe in Minnesota, Alabama-Coushatta Tribe of TX, Washoe Tribe of Nevada and California, multiple tribes in the Chesapeake Bay region. The network is exploring connections with additional tribes in Alabama, California, and South Carolina. The IPBN’s leadership team of Native American fire practitioners is guiding network growth and adapting the network’s structure to welcome new Tribal landscapes.
