Alto Minho Trex

January 20 - January 26

Applications are open through December 6 for the European TREX event, taking place from 20 to 26 January 2024, in Paredes de Coura – Alto Minho, Portugal.
This is the first European-wide TREX for sharing knowledge related to prescribed fire and where we will develop ancestral fire use practices.
Like other TREX, European TREX develops under an Incident Command System (ICS) structure. Participants will have the opportunity to take on different positions and responsibilities during the operational periods, with the opportunity to burn different types of fuels and for the most diverse purposes.
We invite participants from all genders, backgrounds, discipline and background. Together we will all learn from everyone!
Target audience: professionals working with forest fires in general, technicians, researchers, firefighters from different bodies with experience in using fire, brigadists, students, among others
This event is supported by The Nature Conservancy, US Forest Service, North Flancon, and Power Walls Municipality.
