Interagency Burn Plan Workshop

December 2 - December 4

Summary:

This workshop will provide an opportunity to improve and refine burn plans. Through content delivery, practical exercise, small group activity; participants will write new or edit existing burn plans building on principles discussed. This will provide continuing education on burn plan preparation to improve collective understanding of prescribed fire plans, regardless of agency. Participants should be prepared to bring computers and burn plans for review and collaborative work. Participants will receive credit for RT-300 or continuing education credits

Intended Audience:

  • All are welcome – NGO, state, tribal, private, municipal, NWCG qualifications are NOT a pre-requisite
    for this workshop
  • Burn plan writers
  • Line officers (Agency Administrators)
  • Fire Managers, Fuels Technicians, Fuels Specialists, and Fire Management Officers, etc.

The overall intent of this workshop is to improve focus on recognizing and preparing quality burn plans. This will improve our collective ability to reduce risk to administrators and fire managers.

Timeline:

  • Outreach and application: September 1st – October 15th by close of business.
  • Selection: Notifications by October 28th
  • Workshop dates: December 2-4th, 2025
