The 2025 Southern Missouri Prescribed Fire Training Exchange (SOMO TREX) will take place March 3rd – 14th 2025 in Marshfield , MO. Please see the attached announcement for more information and a link to the nomination form. This will be the third TREX we have hosted in MO. In the previous two years, SOMO TREX participants assisted on over 30 burn operations completing over 30,000 acres worth of good fire applied to Missouri landscapes. Through these efforts, participants have gotten a lot of ink in taskbooks, experience on the fireline and with fireline leadership, and built amazing networks within the fire community!
This training is best suited for FFT2’s gaining practical experience, FFT1, ENGB, FIRB, and RxB2 trainees. NGOs and Tribal groups who do not utilize National Wildfire Coordinating Group standards will not be disqualified from participating but, all participants will need to obtain the basic qualifications prior to arrival to SOMOTREX if accepted.
