2025 Canadian Prairies TREX
October 20 - October 24
The 4th Annual Canadian Prairies Prescribed Fire Training Exchange (TREX), is happening October 20–24, 2025 in the Saskatoon region.
Jointly hosted by Meewasin and the Canadian Prairies Prescribed Fire Exchange, this immersive, week-long training provides hands-on experience with prescribed fire – featuring elements like classroom learning, fieldwork, and live fire line participation.
Whether you’re a land steward, conservationist, researcher, prescribed fire practitioner or anything in between, this is your opportunity to build skills, connect with peers, and deepen your fire knowledge in prairie grassland ecosystems. All are welcome!
Our 2025 TREX planning partners include:

- ECCC – Canadian Wildlife Service,
- Nature Conservancy of Canada – Saskatchewan Region,
