SUMMARY:2026 Southern Missouri Prescribed Fire Training Exchange (SOMO TREX)
DESCRIPTION:The fourth Southern Missouri Prescribed Fire Training Exchange (SOMO TREX) will take place March 2nd – 13th 2026 in Marshfield\, MO.  Please see the attached announcement for more information and a link to the nomination form. The nomination period has been extended through January 16th. \nOver the previous three years\, SOMO TREX participants have assisted on over 50 burn operations completing over 50\,000 acres worth of good fire on Missouri forests\, woodlands\, savannas\, and prairies.  Through these efforts\, participants have gotten a lot of ink in taskbooks\, experience on the fireline/fireline leadership\, and built amazing networks within the fire community!   \nThis training is best suited for FFT2’s gaining practical experience\, FFT1\, ENGB\, FIRB\, and RxB2 trainees.  NGOs and Tribal groups who do not utilize National Wildfire Coordinating Group standards will not be disqualified from participating\, but all participants will need to obtain the basic (S-130\, S-190\, L-180\, ICS-100\, and IS-700) qualifications prior to arrival to SOMO TREX if accepted. \n2026 SouthernMOTREX_Announcement
